On May 24th the Ventura Citizens for Hillside Preservation Board unanimously voted to endorse Steve Bennett in his 2012 re-election bid for our Area 1 County Supervisor seat.

Through the years we have watched as Steve work tirelessly for our community. He is an exceptional leader, always carefully researching and weighing the consequences of any government action with clarity and fairness.

We believe it is safe to say that Steve was green before it was “in fashion” to be green--Steve's environmental record is outstanding. He understands the balance and relationship between economic vitality and environmental health. He knows that for a community to truly prosper, it must also take care and protect its critical natural resources.

He appreciates the fact that it is important and more efficient to work in concert with nature, rather than continually fight against natural forces.

In this country we used to ask a benchmark question before making any major decisions:

“Will this be good for our children, our grandchildren and their children?”

Steve still asks this question.

He is cognizant that we are not merely passengers on planet earth --but crew with a responsibility to work to conserve and manage the earth's crucial resources for future generations.

We applaud Steve's integrity and work ethic and are pleased he is again willing to devote his energies and intellect to serving and guiding our community to a better, greener, future.
