Endorsements

The Ventura Citizens for Hillside Preservation Board unanimously voted to endorse Steve Bennett in his June 2016 re-election bid for our Area 1 County Supervisor seat.

Through the years we have watched as Steve works tirelessly for our community. He is an exceptional leader, always carefully researching and weighing the consequences of any government action with clarity and fairness.

We believe it is safe to say that Steve was green before it was “in fashion” to be green--Steve's environmental record is outstanding. He understands the balance and relationship between economic vitality and environmental health. He knows that for a community to truly prosper, it must also take care of and protect its critical natural resources.

In this country we used to ask a benchmark question before making any major decisions:
“Will this be good for our children, our grandchildren and their children?”
Steve still asks this question.

He is cognizant that we are not merely passengers on planet earth, but crew with a responsibility to work to conserve and manage the earth's crucial resources for future generations.

It is not an accident that Ventura County has been voted the best place to live in the United States and that we have kept Los Angeles area sprawl from enveloping us. Supervisor Bennett has played a huge role in the excellent quality of life that we all enjoy. A visionary leader is rare in today’s sound bite world. For that reason Steve has enjoyed consistent support from the community he has served so well.

We applaud Steve's integrity and work ethic and are pleased he is again willing to devote his energies and intellect to serving and guiding our community to a better, greener, future.
